WINDROSS FARM GOLF CLUB

New Zealand’s newest and exciting projects is Windross Farm Golf Course. Located roughly an hour south of Auckland city center, this course was designed by Brett Thomson, already very well known as architect for other major New Zealand golf courses like The Hills, Clearwater, Jack’s Point: Playability is high at Windross Farm and golfers of all levels will find this track very approachable. There are no forced carries from the most-forward tees while the tips play at a modern length at close to 7000 yds. Both nines are of similar length but play quite differently with varying design elements and the influence of wind direction. Apart from the undulating greens, 38 bunkers and minimal tree presence, the major feature of the course is the water in its many forms with four large lakes interlaced with numerous burns (streams) threading their way in and out of impressive, yet imposing, wetland areas. It is a course that can be challenging or challenged by any level of player on every hole and every shot. The course is open for public in 2017 and the LPGA tour will have a venue here in autumn 2017.
