The Dunbrody is an exact replica of the original ship built in 1845. This impressive barque carried thousands of Irish people from the desperation of the Great Famine in Ireland to America, the land that offered them hope of a better life.
A spectacular group of medieval buildings set on a outcrop of limestone in the Golden Vale including the 12th century round tower, High Cross and Romanesque Chapel, 13th century Gothic cathedral, 15th century castle and the restored Hall of the Vicars.
Waterford City is the capital of the so-called ‘Sunny Southeast’ of Ireland. Waterford City was established in Viking times and it has an exciting medieval flavour and riverside bustle.
