High in foggy hills 13 km northeast of Nuwara Eliya, this unique place was built in and around a centuries-old tea factory. Much of the factory machinery that blurs the line between the museum and luxury hotel is still on site and has been integrated into the design. This distinctive hotel is set amidst tea-planted hills in a converted tea factory that was built in the days of the British Raj. Many of the original features have been retained as the tea packing room has been converted into a hotel bar and one of the restaurants in an old railroad car.
